Rhyna's Story
I was born #6 on a cold February 21, 1999
night (or so I was told). My mom was pretty speedy through the whole
whelping process (or so I was told). We all were whelped between the hours
of 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. ... maybe she was tired and just
wanted to go to sleep. Ha! We fooled her! All seven of
us, I had 2 brother and 4 sisters. Our human parents were so in love
with us. I think maybe they are just crazy about Chows. We
were a really really nice litter. We all grew pretty quickly, and
kept everyone around us very busy. Pretty soon this nice lady named
Barbara (my co-breeder) came by and said she wanted to take me to condition
me for the show ring. My human parents really didn't want me to go,
but they knew that I was meant for bigger and better things. And
then things started really happening.
I started my show career at a puppy match
in Ohio in July 1999 with my first puppy Best in Match and overall (over
the adults) under Mr. Ed Haas, in an entry over 200. Then I won 3
more Best in Match's and 4 more puppy Group Ones, beating over 700
dogs.
I took BOSS under Mr. Harold Young (Judge)
in Texas (NTCC Specialty), and then went to Boston, winning another BOSS
under Judy Loratto(Judge) (New England Chow Chow Specialty) and in 3 weekends
finished my Championship title (also went Best of Breed over specials (pic
above).
My first weekend out as a Special I took
Best Opposite Sex at the Greater Twin Cities Chow Chow Club Jan 7, 2000.
In October 1999 Barbara and I went
to Bangkok Thailand where I went Best Puppy in Show (which IS a big deal
over there!).

February 4, 2000 I was awarded
another BOSS in Atlanta GA at the Speciality there.
I love being a star... everyone says I am
